Infernal Pyreclaw
This pet can have the following breeds:

Breed Health Power Speed
PB 1465 289 273
HB 1546 273 273
SB 1465 273 289

Breeds marked in red are not suited for this strategy.

The second leveling pet must have less HP that the Pyreclaw!
Can be done with a SB Pyreclaw, but gets quite unreliable.

Low XP

At least one of the pets for this strategy require the use of a specific breed.
Not every strategy can be bullet proof. This is one of them. You might have to restart it, since there are some random elements that increase the risk of your pets failing. Don't blame them, please!
This strategy is using pets obtainable from the Wow Trading Card Game (TCG) or the auction house for potentially high sums of gold.
This strategy is using pets obtainable only from the WoW In-Game Shop for Battle.net Balance or real money.
Level 1+
You can use this strategy to carry a low level pet to give it experience.
Some instructions are more difficult to follow than others. That's exactly what you might find in this strategy!
Script
The strategy offers a Script that can be used with the Pet Battle Script addon. You can copy the script by clicking on the button to the left of the pets.
At least one pet in the strategy cannot be obtained anymore. If you have it, congrats!
A Strategy Curator found this strategy to be especially helpful and higlighted it with this tag to give it more exposure.

SlimShady#12499

Followed this exactly as written and it worked nicely. Used another Infernal Pyroclaw and Abyssius as my level 1 pets.

wrote on 2019-07-06 23:24:13

Works nicely, def gotta get the crab dead before he comes out. His heal is OP and that claw damage is nasty.

wrendarla

wrote on 2019-05-08 15:20:41

S/B Pyreclaw worked, fun strat but the XP nerf means it's not worth it now :(

tanequil

wrote on 2018-09-11 00:50:08

Velk is right. Horrible horrible strat if you have a S/B

Drach wrote on 2019-01-13 18:13:31

I did the strat with an S/B and had no issues...but was lucky with a couple of crits - so lucky that the IP and two of three enemies died at same time, leaving my 2 level pets getting all the xp - a whopping 62 xp each

Anon wrote on 2018-12-14 10:20:07

Unfortunately, it looks like Blizzard has nerfed the XP you get from doing all of the WQ pet battles in BfA, so these strats for leveling are now pointless. I'm glad I got a chance to boost some pets before they decided not to let us do it anymore...

(OP) morazor#2212

wrote on 2018-12-26 03:12:14

Yep, they could keep the bonus xp at least when doing the WQ.

Velk

wrote on 2018-09-10 20:55:36

S/B pyreclaw died repeatedly - all it takes is one crit from clubber or one low damage cleave. I'd suggest changing the required breeds, because the RNG is far too high to count as reliable for S/B

(OP) morazor#2212

wrote on 2018-09-11 19:03:57

Done! I've added in the description that can be done with a SB but gets unreliable.

Donin

wrote on 2018-11-05 23:44:01

i have yet to lose with my s/b. i do use a 3rd sting every time though. i can see where a crit would be an issue though.

Minet

wrote on 2018-11-07 13:57:27

I've had good luck with my S/B when I use Adrenaline Rush when Clubber loses the flying racial. Going first the last couple of times really evens it out.

(OP) morazor#2212

wrote on 2018-11-16 08:50:53

Uh, good idea! Going to test it ASAP!

Pureheart wrote on 2018-11-17 11:09:40

It was close, but my S/B got it done. I did throw in two flame breaths, first one just after first Great Sting, to have four rounds of continuous damage, and again after second Great Sting then cleaved to the finish.

Meiku wrote on 2018-12-05 23:14:00

S/B is just added RNG, I have good luck and my S/B Pyreclaw dies as the poison kills the bird and turtle (the crab is already dead usually.)

Mot

wrote on 2018-11-17 21:31:44

Very close (62HP remaining on my P/B Pyreclaw), but also very nice!

Gráinne

wrote on 2018-11-07 03:25:47

I love this strat! I'm a sucker for cheeky AoE strats, like Aranesh's Lava Crab for Aki or Jere's Emperor/Chrominius for Wastewalker Shu. Well done!

wrote on 2018-09-22 13:11:37

So elegant. So hilarious. Great work!

Urszula wrote on 2018-09-19 14:48:54

This strat with 2 level pets works aswell with the Nether Faerie Dragon with Arcane Blast, Life Exchange and Cyclone. I combined this strat with the one from Clarx (alternative number 4 with the Sprite Darter Hatchling, the Nether Fearie Dragon is the alternative pet for the Sprite Darter Hatchling)

myotismon wrote on 2018-09-18 15:31:41

just done this with rebellious imp tho it was a bug used portal on 1st turn imp became stuck with portal debuff swapped it back in killed all 3 pets and took no damage

jdf#1850

wrote on 2018-08-26 08:40:43

this strategy worked overall but Clubber always brought in my infernal pyreclaw no matter what order i had my pets arranged in. So only one of my level pets got in the match. Otherwise Pyreclaw killed everything and survived.

(OP) morazor#2212

wrote on 2018-08-27 01:08:07

It happens if the second leveling pet has more HP than the Pyreclaw, I've added a note about it!

Lazey

wrote on 2018-09-01 04:59:15

You could add the HP<1465 to the 2nd level pet in your team, the generated Rematch string imported to your game should exclude high HP level pets then.

Just to confirm, this also worked perfectly with my H/B Pyreclaw—all three breeds are usable for this strategy. This is the TDS I wrote for it, since I didn't read the comments before I blew that snake's team up today!

wrote on 2018-08-25 11:43:44

I've done it with a SB Pyreclaw and I've managed to kill everything without dying.
Maybe it depends on crits and breeds. Problem is I can't test it better until the WQ comes out again :(

Rhaom

wrote on 2018-08-25 12:23:20

It can be done without anything getting killed yeah, I just was just being really lazy with the script, it can be changed to only use Great Sting twice instead of a 3rd time but since the result is the same either way I didn't see the value in making the script longer :D
